Lou Cables of the Lodge Real Estate Hamilton East branch always wanted to try her hand at selling homes, but wasn’t sure how to get started. Working as a teacher in Morrinsville, she always had the feeling that the time wasn’t right to switch careers but decided to take a 'now or never' approach and give it a go.
Almost 30 years later, Lou is incredibly happy that she took a leap of faith and got into the real estate industry.
“Although I have past experience in the health, education, and law sectors, it’s my career in real estate that I’m most passionate and successful in” she says. “My love of houses goes so deep that at one stage I ended up building my very own dream home.”
Lou continues to also help clients into dream homes of their own, which is her favourite part of the job. She says that her most memorable moments in the industry have been meeting different people along the way.
“Hamilton has heaps of diversity” Lou says. “We’re so central to other cities which is really handy and desirable for people”
Lou feels that working within Lodge has made a huge impact on how much she has enjoyed her career. “There is nowhere better to go in Hamilton” she says. “Lodge is so innovative, fair and supportive.”
